3. There’s No Such Thing as “One and Done”

I thought IVF would be one cycle and then — boom — baby. But it doesn’t always happen that way. Some people get pregnant on the first round. Others take several tries. I wish I had known to prepare emotionally for more than one cycle. Not because I wanted to expect the worst — but because I wanted to be kind to myself if it didn’t work the first time.
